Third Wave
Psychedelics, also referred to as hallucinogens, entheogens, or empathogens, are psychoactive substances that produce alterations in conscious experience. These can include changes in cognition, perception, feelings, and emotions.
The so-called “classic” psychedelics—LSD, psilocybin, mescaline, and DMT—affect the brain’s serotonin system, primarily by binding to the serotonin 2A (5HT-2A) receptor.
Other substances with known hallucinogenic properties—like cannabis, ketamine, MDMA, and others—have different targets in the brain but still produce some psychedelic effects.
Moondance
Honoring our departed elder Abuela Malinali, we share the songs of the Moondance. This four-day ceremonial danza brings together women, men, and children in a sacred embrace with the Earth and the essence of the Moon, it serves as a touching tribute to the ancient traditions of the Americas. Through the sharing of sacred songs, profound teachings, and expressive movement, a profound and transformative healing experience unfolds.
Days are dedicated to rest and attentive listening during teaching sessions, where Mexica elders impart the wisdom of the Red Road, drawing from their understanding of Aztec or Mexica ways. Transferring this knowledge to present and future generations fosters a sense of unity among humankind.
The revered Elders, also known as “Abuelas,” not only share insights into traditional practices during the moondance, but also serve as a guiding force—offering counsel and their wisdom to navigate the intricate dance of life.

ICEERS
The International Center for Ethnobotanical Education, Research, and Service (ICEERS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming society’s relationship with psychoactive plants. We do this by engaging with some of the fundamental issues resulting from the globalization of ayahuasca, iboga, and other ethnobotanicals.
